Ventura Missionary School is a ministry of Ventura Missionary Church. Our mission is to clearly present Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior to preschool through eighth grade children and their families. We will accomplish this in a spiritually focused, supportive school environment with high academic and behavioral standards through instruction based on God’s Word.
The education students receive at VMS is arts-enriched, rigorous, challenging, and academically sound as evidenced by high standardized test scores and the percentage of students taking advanced classes in high school.
Middle School students are required to serve a number of hours of outreach each quarter. Besides serving in a pre-approved setting of the student's choice, students have also been given the opportunity to serve by working at Teen Challenge, creating tray "favors" for senior citizens, working at Ventura County Christian High School, convalescent homes, and others places in the community. Students have collected food and clothing from the community for VMC's Mexico outreach. Our middle school students sponsor a World Vision child annually. In 2005-2006 our students decorated over 200 gift bags for VMC to hand out to visitors during the Christmas season. VMS students gave approximately 1350 food items to Food Share. VMS also partnered with VMC in Samaritan's Purse's Operation Christmas Child.
